Full-day excursion combining a visit to North Seymour Island—one of the best sites for birdwatching and land wildlife in the Galápagos—with time for swimming and snorkeling at Las Bachas Beach, one of the most მშვიდ and scenic beaches in northern Santa Cruz.
This tour is ideal for travelers seeking close encounters with wildlife, volcanic landscapes, and white-sand beaches in a single experience.
Departure time: Between 7:00 and 8:00 AM
Approximate return time: 4:30 PM
The experience begins in Puerto Ayora with a land transfer to the Itabaca Channel, followed by an approximately 45-minute navigation to North Seymour Island.
On North Seymour, guests take a guided walk along flat natural trails, where a wide variety of wildlife can be observed. The island is known for its arid landscape, palo santo vegetation, opuntia cacti, and as one of the main nesting sites for seabirds.
During the walk, visitors may observe blue-footed boobies, magnificent and great frigatebirds, land and marine iguanas, sea lions, swallow-tailed gulls, pelicans, and Sally Lightfoot crabs.
The tour then continues with a short navigation to Las Bachas Beach, located on the northern coast of Santa Cruz Island. This white coral-sand beach with calm waters is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing. In the area, it is common to spot tropical fish, rays, and occasionally sea turtles.
In addition, the nearby brackish lagoon offers opportunities to observe pink flamingos and other migratory birds, as well as marine iguanas, Sally Lightfoot crabs, and coastal bird species.
After completing the activities, guests return to Puerto Ayora.
