Full-day excursion that explores Punta Pitt—one of the few places in the Galápagos Islands where all three species of boobies can be observed in their natural habitat—combined with snorkeling at Kicker Rock (León Dormido), an impressive rock formation renowned for its abundant marine life and unique underwater scenery.
Departure time: 6:30 AM
Approximate return time: 5:00 PM
The experience begins in San Cristóbal with a transfer from your hotel or meeting point to the dock, followed by an approximately one-hour navigation to the northeastern end of the island.
At Punta Pitt, guests land on a distinctive green sand beach formed by volcanic minerals, followed by a guided hike along a natural trail that crosses volcanic formations and seabird nesting areas. During the walk, visitors may observe red-footed boobies, blue-footed boobies, and Nazca boobies, while enjoying panoramic views of the ocean and the unique coastal landscape.
The tour then continues to Kicker Rock (León Dormido), where snorkeling takes place in deep, crystal-clear waters. There is a high probability of spotting hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, sea lions, eagle rays, and a wide variety of tropical fish, swimming alongside the vertical walls of this iconic rock formation.
After completing the activities, guests return to San Cristóbal, concluding an experience that combines hiking, unique birdwatching, and exploration of one of the best snorkeling sites in the archipelago.
