Wall Of Tears + Concha de Perla Tour
From: $140 – $160 (VAT not included)
Rate varies according to modality: walking or biking.
Full-day excursion on Isabela Island that combines history, hiking, and snorkeling, ideal for those who wish to explore one of the island’s most emblematic historical sites and enjoy a marine experience in crystal-clear waters.
The tour starts from Puerto Villamil with hotel or meeting point pick-up and transfer to the Wall of Tears trail, located 5 km west of the town. During the journey, an interpretive walk or bicycle tour is conducted, depending on the chosen modality, crossing natural landscapes and points of interest until reaching the Wall of Tears, a historical site built between 1946 and 1959 by prisoners of the former penal colony. Here you can learn its history, observe the stone structure, and ascend to the viewpoints to enjoy panoramic views of the Isabela landscape.
Subsequently, the tour continues to Concha de Perla, a bay of calm, crystal-clear waters surrounded by mangroves, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. At this site, it is possible to observe sea lions, sea turtles, tropical fish, and, during the cold season, the emblematic Galápagos penguins. The experience includes time for snorkeling and enjoying the marine ecosystem at one of the most accessible and attractive sites in Puerto Villamil.
Upon completion, the tour returns to Puerto Villamil, completing a day that combines history, nature, and direct contact with marine life.
