Half-day or full-day excursion combining snorkeling, hiking, and exploration of the highlands of Santa Cruz Island—ideal for travelers who want to experience both marine and terrestrial wildlife in a single tour.
The tour begins in Puerto Ayora with a transfer to Franklin Bay, where visitors can swim in crystal-clear waters alongside sea lions, sharks, rays, and colorful tropical fish. Next, guests take a dinghy ride through the Love Channel, a narrow turquoise-water passage between volcanic formations, home to crabs, pelicans, herons, terns, and marine iguanas.
The excursion continues to the Tintoreras Channel, where natural viewpoints allow visitors to observe sharks resting in the water and enjoy panoramic views of the bay and its coastal vegetation. The tour then proceeds to Dog Beach, a rocky trail surrounded by cacti, marine iguanas, and endemic birds such as blue-footed boobies and Darwin’s finches.
The next stop is Las Grietas, a series of rock formations with crystal-clear brackish water, ideal for swimming and observing migratory birds.
In the afternoon, the tour continues to the Santa Cruz Highlands, visiting giant tortoise reserves in Bellavista, El Carmen, and Santa Rosa, where guests can observe land wildlife in its natural habitat. During the visit, travelers also explore the Lava Tunnels—volcanic formations extending up to 600 meters (1,968 ft)—and Los Gemelos, impressive volcanic sinkholes surrounded by endemic vegetation, ferns, and orchids.
At the end of the experience, guests return to Puerto Ayora, completing a day full of nature, adventure, and unique discoveries in the Galápagos.
