Departure time (shared): 2:00 PM or 3:00 PM (subject to coordination)

Itinerary

The tour begins in Puerto Ayora with a transfer to the highlands of Santa Cruz Island, passing through diverse vegetation zones ranging from arid areas to humid forests.

The first stop is at a ranch, where visitors can observe giant tortoises roaming freely in their natural habitat. In this setting, it is also possible to spot birds such as Darwin’s finches and other endemic species.

Next, the tour continues to the Lava Tunnels, volcanic formations created by ancient lava flows that left underground cavities. Visitors can walk inside these tunnels and learn about their geological formation.

Finally, the excursion visits Los Gemelos, two impressive volcanic sinkholes formed by the collapse of magma chambers. This site offers panoramic views and excellent opportunities for birdwatching, surrounded by lush highland vegetation.

After completing the activities, guests return to Puerto Ayora.
