Isabela Tour / Flamingo Lagoon + Breeding Center + Las Tintoreras
From: $120- $150
BEST OPTION
Full-day excursion on Isabela Island that combines observation of terrestrial fauna, guided walks, and snorkeling, ideal for those who wish to explore one of the most diverse and fascinating ecosystems of Galápagos in a single experience. The tour can start from Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island) or directly from Puerto Villamil (Isabela Island), depending on the passenger’s location.
- From Santa Cruz: the tour begins early with the transfer from your hotel to the dock to board the boat bound for Isabela Island.
- From Isabela: the tour begins with pick-up at your hotel in Puerto Villamil.
Upon arrival or start in Isabela, a boat is boarded towards Las Tintoreras Islet, where a walk is taken along volcanic lava trails. At this site, white-tip reef sharks can be observed resting in crystalline water crevices, in addition to Galápagos penguins, sea turtles, manta rays, sea lions, and marine iguanas. Next, the Arnaldo Tupiza Breeding Center is visited, where you can learn about the process of conservation, breeding, and repopulation of giant tortoises, with Isabela being the only island with five different species. Subsequently, there is a visit to the Flamingo Lagoon, a group of salt lagoons that house the largest concentration of flamingos in Galápagos, as well as various coastal and marine birds in a unique natural environment.
- Return to Santa Cruz: in the afternoon by speedboat.
- End of the tour in Isabela: transfer back to your hotel in Puerto Villamil.
At the end of the experience, a journey full of nature, adventure, and direct contact with Galápagos wildlife is completed.
